On the Radio
We have been on radio a few times to talk about the Revival
Centres. On Monday, 27 April, 1998 at 9AM, the Radio National
'Life Matters' program did a story with us, interviewing Sue
Durrant, the ex-daughter-in-law of the Revival Centre leader
'Colonel Durrant'.
On 3 June, 1998 at 11AM on Triple J, there was a long discussion
and even some talkback callers. Troy Waller was interviewed. There was also an interview recorded with Paul
Longfield (Lloyd's son) by Troy Waller at about the same time.
Longfield Says Jesus is not God!!!
Here is the whole unedited transcript of
what Lloyd said to a researcher in Hawthorn, 1.Sep.1994. We hope
this stops any claims that we are lying about what Lloyd believes
about Jesus.
1995 RCI vs. RF Split
The
Adelaide RCI/RF Split Talk
Here is some audio from the special meeting Longfield called
when many RCI groups split away, and formed the Revival
Fellowship. Longfield calls this 'meeting
extraodinaire' and says the Revival
Centres have been 'split in half' Now, if you listen real
closely to the clouded remarks Longfield makes through this talk,
he says much more than what appears on the surface. If you listen
carefully, he gives a complete run down of his version of the
split, which he divides into 5 sections.
Firstly, he notes that he always made
the doctrines, and it was always accepted that he ran the Revival Centres. His
leadership has brought 'enlightenment'
to the Revival Centres. However, over time his
authority had been questioned. There were problems in the 'chain of command' (note
how Lloyd uses this military term to refer to his
church).
This was mostly because of a 'pastor'
who he didn't know who was appointed by someone else - this
quick statement is one of the central ones of his talk (note how
he distances himself from the problem 'pastor'). He is referring
to a pastor, who according to Longfield, was wrongly appointed by
a South Australian leader.
Lloyd brings up several pet hates in issue. Fornication by pastors, how fornicators will never be in the Kingdom of
Heaven, how previously they were
forced to marrry (illegal, BTW) but that isn't good enough
anymore, how there are too many
fornicators in the Revival Centres. Many think that the split
talk was about how fornicators wouldn't ever be alowed back in
fellowship. In fact, at no point in the talk did Lloyd ever say,
"fornicators will never be allowed back in fellowship".
The only thing he ever said was that fornicators would never be
allowed into the Kingdom of Heaven! Many people close to Lloyd
have admitted that Lloyd not only believes that fornicators
shouldn't be allowed back into fellowship, but that fornicators will NEVER see the Kingdom of
Heaven.
Lloyd goes on to explain how he doesn't hear enough about
immorality problems in other assemblies. However, 'pastor' Ian Macgreggor who had recently
moved from this assembly, tipped Lloyd off on something that
happened.
Lloyd then had a 'run in' with the
senior pastor there, who was overseeing the other work. To
explain a bit, Lloyd is describing how this senior pastor in
South Australia refused to stand down the 'pastor' who Lloyd had
the problems with. This disobedience
caused a rift between Lloyd and the other pastor which,
according to Lloyd, fueled the split. Recall Lloyd's earlier
comments about the breakdown in the 'chain of command', which
Lloyd sees as the cause of the problems. In the end, Lloyd puts
it all down to a 'power struggle'.
So, that's the 'Split according to Lloyd'. We don't want to
get into this awful mudslinging, so you see the nasty bits are
kept quite vage. Though, we have also had to include a few other split
talk comments, like this one about Shirley
Temple - it just seems Lloyd sounds very nasty when he is
saying that one. Also note this comment made by his son, Simon
Longfield, that RCI's PNG's Godfrey
Wippon, is going to stick by the Revival Centres 100%. PNG is
important to the Revival Centres beause they have many thousands
of members in PNG. Either Simon or Godfrey seem to have lied
about this one, because almost as soon as Simon spoke those
words, Godfrey had handed in his
resignation to the RCI.
Secret Recording of the NSW Pastor's Split Meeting. Just before the split of '95, NSW pastors called a meeting with Longfield which started the split, and some outrageous comments are made by Longfield. This was the first and only meeting about the 'split', and you could say that the Revival Centres broke up during this pastor's meeting. Have a glimpse at the inside workings of the Revival Centre heirarchy.

Darryl Willaims (RF Pastor)
The following sounds are from an infamous Adelaide
Revival Fellowship meeting at the Vogue (15/2/98), in which one of their 'pastors',
Darryl Williams, says some controversial things.
The Ear-ring Boy
A news story followed a Victorian RCI member who
was kicked out for wearing an ear-ring and brought the RCI to the
Equal Opportunities Commission. Wav files from a funny Martin-Molloy
broadcast 5/3/98.
